Hyperplasia is a term that describes the event when the body builds extra cells in tissue and/or organs. An example includes the growth that occurs during breastfeeding. This is known as a benign growth. Hyperplasia and hysterectomy is a cause and effect scenario. The body can build extra cells in the lining of the uterus causing an overgrowth.
